To bluff or not to bluff? 

So, what about bluffing in the land-based casino (cuz you can’t really bluff online, can you? No people around makes it kind of difficult). Bluff can be defined as deliberate deception intended to create the impression of a stronger position or greater resources than one actually has; this is the most exciting part of your poker game, but as any techniques it should be used with great care and wisdom.

You need a talent to do that yourself without any unpleasant consequences that will cost you money, or be a good psychologist to read other people’s mind and benefit from it. What is easier… let’s say both require a lot of effort, skill and constant practice. If you happened to guess someone’s intentions, don’t be sure you grasped it all – next time the other player will be more careful, and if he’s a pro, it’ll be easier for him to deceive you by showing the emotion you are expecting.

Everyone is unique, with a full range of emotions and ways of expressing them; if you always trust only your eyes – you are never going to succeed, as deep analysis at the poker table involves almost telepathic level of perception, some players say they can even smell bluff – which is not as strange as it might seem: our body is constantly reacting by releasing undetectable amounts of various substances (that’s why when you see a dog and feel frightened, it can actually feel your fear and attack, as, according to its natural instinct, if you are afraid – you are a potential prey; of course, it’s not gonna eat you anyway, but there will be at least a moment of hostility as the call of the wild overtakes…).

So yes, bluffing is the most important part of this game – especially if you have a weak hand. And yes, you should do it, but perfection takes time, and so you should also be ready to lose some money while learning from your own mistakes. That’s so far the most efficient, yet the most painful way.
